Halibut Fishing in Alaska

Southeast Alaska offers some of the best Halibut fishing anywhere in the world. Captain Todd is very experienced and successful at finding Halibut in the deep waters surrounding Juneau, Alaska. Captain Todd also is one of a very small minority of charter captains in Juneau to qualify for an International Pacific Halibut Commission Charter Halibut Permit. All Halibut trips are 8 hour charters. Everything is included in the rate including transportation to and from your hotel or ship and lunch. If Halibut limits are reached early, Captain Todd can either take you Whale watching or Salmon Trolling - your choice!

Salmon Fishing in Alaska

The waters of the Inside Passage are teeming with Chinook (King) Salmon, Silver Salmon, Chum Salmon, Pink Salmon, Red Salmon, and Dolly Varden Trout (Check out our photo gallery for more pictures). Captain Todd has the experience and know-how to give you an excellent chance at catching huge salmon. Salmon fishing trips can booked for 4, 6, or 8 hour trips. Generally, we find it most effective and enjoyable to troll for salmon and jig for halibut. We use downriggers while trolling for salmon and usually (depending on the tide) drift for halibut and fish on the bottom with 16-32 oz. weights. On most days we use herring for bait, but occasionally we'll use artificial lures such as hoochies and spoons.

We travel all over the Inside Passage on our charters. Depending on your preference, the length of your trip, the weather, the tides and where the fish are, we can go to any number of spots. There's no shortage of beautiful areas with plenty of salmon and halibut within minutes of Auke Bay and downtown Juneau.

We're sure that Beartrack Charters will bring you a fishing experience you'll never forget. Call us, e-mail us or write us to book your charter today!
